Clear Aligners

Clear aligners are a genuinely good option for the right patient, and they are not all the same. At Anchor Orthodontics we work with Invisalign and other aligner systems, and we choose whichever one moves your teeth most efficiently. The aligner is only ever a tool. What actually decides the result is the prescription behind it and the orthodontist responsible for it. We offer clear aligners for teens and adults at both our Providence and Wakefield offices.

Who clear aligners are right for

Aligners work well for motivated teens and adults with mild to moderate crowding or spacing. The real variable is wear time. They only work when they are in the mouth, roughly 22 hours a day, out only for eating and drinking anything other than water. A responsible patient can do this easily. If compliance is a real concern, we would rather talk about it honestly up front than watch treatment stall halfway through.

We look at more than the front teeth

With children especially, we do not start with the teeth. We look at the airway and how the jaw is growing first, because a straight, stable smile has to sit on a foundation that is the right size. Most of the time that means aligners are one option we weigh after we understand the whole picture, not a default we hand every family. If braces will serve you better, we will tell you that too.

Specialist care at both offices

Dr. Courtney Lavigne is a board-certified orthodontist who is also an Accredited Member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, a distinction held by fewer than 1% of dentists worldwide, and she has advanced aligner training that lets her treat cases that once required braces. Dr. Lauren Cardarelli sees patients alongside her at both locations. Whichever office is closer, you are getting that level of care.

Not sure whether clear aligners are right for you or your child? No referral is needed to get started at either our Providence or Wakefield office.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Invisalign and other clear aligners?

Invisalign is one brand of clear aligner. Dr. Lavigne and Dr. Cardarelli work with multiple aligner systems and choose the one whose strengths fit your case, rather than fitting every case to a single brand. The diagnosis and treatment plan matter far more than the logo on the box.

How do I know if clear aligners are right for me?

It comes down to your bite, your goals, and your habits. Aligners reward consistent wear and suit people who want a low-visibility option. Some bites are simply treated better with braces. We will give you a straight answer at your consultation, including which option we would choose for our own family.

How much do clear aligners cost?

Cost depends on the complexity of your case and the length of treatment, not just the appliance. You will get an exact all-inclusive quote at your consultation, and we will walk through payment options with you.

What happens after aligner treatment is finished?

Retainers. Teeth drift for the rest of your life without them, so every aligner patient finishes with a retainer plan to protect the result.
